CITY PROPERTY MARKETS – CLOSURE OF RETAIL, FARMERS & CAR BOOT SALE
MESSAGE FROM TOM MCINTYRE, CITY PROPERTY MARKETS MANAGER
We’d first of all like to thank you for your continued support during these very difficult times.
As you know so far, we have continued to keep all our markets open in line with the advice issued by the UK and Scottish Governments. We understand the important role that our markets play in providing groceries for the local communities across Glasgow and we wished to keep this open for use for as long as possible.
We are, however, committed to the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, traders and staff and feel that with the unfolding situation, keeping all markets open is no longer an option.
We have, therefore, decided to immediately suspend the majority of our markets until further notice. This suspension will apply to the following markets across the city:
- Blochairn Car Boot Sale
- Mansefield Park Farmers Market
- Partick Retail Market
- Govan Retail Market
- Bridgeton Retail Market
Please note our Wholesale Market at Blochairn will continue to operate as an essential service to provide supplies to the wider food chain across the city.
This is an unprecedented and challenging time and we are working across City Property Markets to manage and respond to the situation as it develops following official advice.
At this point, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our loyal visitors, traders and staff across the city. Our dedicated Markets Team, in particular, have been fantastic in supporting the business and serving our visitors needs during this time.
We hope everyone is staying safe and well and we look forward to seeing each of you once again in the near future.
